Season 2016 has not even ended for ANZ Netball Championships, but anticipation for the 2017 season is growing by the day.
Collingwood announced late on Monday, they had secured the talented Kristy Keppich-Birrell, as the inaugural coach of the Collingwood netball side commencing in 2017.
A qualified school teacher, a mother of two and an impressive coaching career, Keppich-Birrell already has plenty of knowledge and experience to pass onto Collingwood.
Season 2016, saw Keppich-Birrel take on the role of assistant coach for the Adelaide Thunderbirds, before she was promoted to caretaker coach mid-season.
She has also previously coached the Victorian Fury to back-to-back Australian Netball League premierships in 2014 and 2015.
The announcement of Keppich-Birrel as coach comes after Netball Australia, announced in May, that Collingwood, the Melbourne Storm and an alliance between Netball New South Wales and AFL side Greater Western Sydney Giants, would be preferred bidders for the new-look eight-side league beginning in 2017.
