Not much rattles Diamonds captain Laura Geitz ... except when she's forced to look up at her opponents.
The star goal keeper has been eyeing off her Netball World Cup rivals, and admits to feeling a little taken aback at the sheer height of some of them.
"Casey (Silver Ferns captain Casey Kopua) and I were getting photos of some of the girls before, thinking `gosh you guys are tall'," Geitz said as the captains of every team came together before the tournament kicks off on Friday.
Even standing at 1.86m, Geitz is a solid 12cm shorter than the tournament's tallest player, Jamaica's 1.98m shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid.
Her teammate Romelda Aiken isn't far behind her at 1.96m, while goal shooter Caitlin Bassett leads the Australians in the height department as the competition's fifth tallest.
"Normally people are saying that to us, but for us to be going `hooley dooley'. And I've got heels on!
"I'll have to get my jumping shoes on," Geitz said.
